... And we're off..

A long awaited trip, a surprise from the Other Half (OH) to celebrate 25 years of putting up with each other.

Why be clichéd and do the same old thing again and again? The OH pulled the ultimate rabbit out of the hat. One of the biggest items on my bucket list.

A trip on the trans Siberian railway. The longest railway line in the world. And we're off. Literally crossing Russia by land.

Vladivostok (pretty much on the other side of the water across from our old stomping grounds in Japan), A bit of Siberia, the Ural mountains, Moscow (definitely will sing Rasputin) and St Petersberg (I managed to get tickets to Swan Lake!!!!)

We've packed enough emergency food supplies. Vegetarian options might not be that easy on the first leg or two of the trip. So we're doing the typical desi thing and carrying our own food.

But on the bright side, there's always vodka!

Here we go.. almost 9500 kms of train travel. It's certainly going to be the adventure of a lifetime.

I'll post regular updates of our journey. Do leave your comments. I'm back to active blogging after over a decade.

And I plan to call this travelogue...

From Russia.. with love!!
